Dear Nadia & Fanchini family,
Christof Innerhofer told me yesterday evening, when I arrived at the accommodation of the Italian World Cup team, about the sad news that your sister Elena passed away yesterday.
We mourn with you.?
Elena had written to me just 2 weeks ago:
"Padre Jorg grazie per la preghiera sento il suo amore e la sua forza ??❤️"
("Padre Jorg thank you for the prayer, I feel his love and his strength ??❤️")
I asked God for a sign this morning.
While I was writing these words, the light shone through the window and I read the following words from the Bible:
"This has now become a reality, for our Savior Jesus Christ has come. And this is the saving message: he has taken away the power of death and brought to light incorruptible life." (2 Timothy 1:10)
In the midst of indescribable grief, we believe that Elena has entered into this incorruptible life.
Our greatest hope when we experience terrible illness and pain is to know that this life is not all there is - there is life after death. Knowing that we will live forever with God in the heavenly place without suffering can help us ease the pain we face in this life.
Jesus' victory over death and sin gives every believer this final victory. It is written:
"He will wipe away all their tears. There will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more lamentation, no more pain..." (Revelation 21:4)
Deeply united with you in this hope and in the love of God,
Jörg & family ❤️??
